The inaugural “National Health Class” at Shangqiu Medical College has graduated!

On May 31, 2024, the graduation and awards ceremony for the “Guojian Class” of the Rehabilitation Therapy Technology Program at Shangqiu Medical College, established by Henan Guojian Medical Group, was successfully held, with all agenda items duly completed.
Geng Shuqiang, General Manager of Henan Guojian Medical Group, delivered an important address on the profound significance of “enterprise–university cooperation”: Such collaboration leverages the respective strengths of both institutions and enterprises, while jointly cultivating talent that meets the needs of society and the market, thereby constituting a win–win model for universities and enterprises (and society at large). Joint university–enterprise initiatives are not only essential for the development of universities but also for that of enterprises; moreover, they represent the due responsibility of enterprises to give back to universities and to advance the cause of higher education. Through such partnerships, universities and enterprises can complement each other’s strengths and share resources: universities can better capitalize on their research and talent advantages, while enterprises can more effectively harness their resource and market strengths, thus fostering mutual reinforcement and shared development.
President Meng of Shangqiu Medical College expressed strong approval and great satisfaction with the establishment of this “school-enterprise cooperation” initiative.
Henan Guojian Medical Group is offering scholarships to outstanding graduates of its training program, with three tiers of awards: two first-prize recipients, each receiving RMB 1,000; three second-prize recipients, each receiving RMB 500; and five third-prize recipients, each receiving RMB 300. The scholarships were presented by Mr. Geng Shuqiang, General Manager of the company, together with President Meng, President Wang, and President Yuan from Shangqiu Medical College.
The successful implementation of this session of the “Guojian Class” has significantly boosted students’ learning enthusiasm. By fostering closer integration between the school and enterprises, the institution has been able to swiftly translate its curriculum-based knowledge into real-world productive capacity, while also leveraging practical experience to continuously update and advance its educational content. Principal Meng of Shangqiu Medical College and the Chairman of Guojian have jointly pledged to sustain this exemplary cooperative model and are actively making preparations for the next iteration of the “Guojian Class” at Shangqiu Medical College.
